You can use the search option to find best practices at the local level on specific topics (e.g. governance, citizen engagement, public services) or by the name of a municipality or city. The search results will be tailored to your search criteria, including detailed information.

The platform covers a wide range of local governance areas, including, but not limited to:

• Governance and transparency (e.g., participatory budgeting, anti-corruption measures)
• Project management (EU funds, cooperation with international organizations)
• Public services and infrastructure (e.g., water management, public safety)

Local authorities can submit their best practices by filling out the application form available on the platform. The form requires a brief description of the practice, the name of the municipality or city, and additional details.

To present a best practice, go to the section “Submit good practice” and fill out the online form. After submitting the application, its content will be reviewed by the association before publication to ensure it meets the criteria and standards for publishing.

After the application form is submitted, the association evaluates it. Once approved, it will be published on the platform.

The platform allows local authorities to share and access the best local practices, thereby enhancing knowledge of governance and sustainable development. The availability of all best practices at the local level on a single online platform creates an opportunity for all local communities across the country to freely learn from each other and connect with relevant contacts. Local authorities receive recognition for their initiatives and can use the platform's resources to improve public services and engage citizens more in decision-making processes.

Currently, the platform focuses on presenting best practices from local authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, specifically from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republika Srpska, and Brčko District. However, practices from other countries can be presented as references to inspire local initiatives.

Best practices are evaluated based on their impact, sustainability, and contribution to promoting good governance, human rights, and citizen engagement.

The platform is jointly managed by the Association of Municipalities and Cities of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Association of Municipalities and Cities of Republika Srpska.
